Country Christmas Block Swap

30 07 2012

It’s Christmas in July! I’m participating in a block swap with 9 of my friends who love Civil War reproduction fabrics as much as I do. We are scouring quilt shops for Poison Greens and Turkey Reds to compliment the Kona Khaki background. The wonderful thing about block swaps is the variety of fabrics you receive. Come February, when the swap concludes, we’ll each have 50 blocks to make a controlled red and green scrappy Country Christmas quilt.

Find out more about making this lovely yet simple 7″ block in the Winter 2011 issue of Primitive Quilts magazine. I’m using strip piecing and shortcut techniques when making my blocks.
