The leaves on the trees in my backyard are subtly changing to fall colors. The dogwood, a deep burgundy; the beech, a shimmering yellow; the red maple, orange-red; the silver maple, gray and brown; the pines stay ever green. The blending of leaf colors reminds me of batik fabric strips laid side by side, shading into one another.
While making this quick and easy runner, my mind wandered to other strippy possibilities. What if I inserted diamonds instead of squares?
