Leftover Roses

30 12 2013

In my previous post I showed a “Sunbonnet Sue” wall quilt made for Elsa Rose. I had a few roses leftover plus all the yellow, gray on white neutral, and gingham fabric her mama sent . . . perhaps I could make a small crib quilt with the remaining rose pieces and yardage.

This is my almost low volume quilt. All of the fabrics are light or medium in value EXCEPT that dark purple. I’m sorry, I can’t help it. I am a high contrast quilter. I suspect I needed a medium purple tonal instead of the dark purple to truly make a low volume quilt. Ah, well, as I often say, “The baby won’t care.”

I quilted meandering loops and double loops in white thread. I had just enough medium green micro check to bind this quilt, too.DSCN5631
