Fabric Resolutions, March

24 03 2014

Each month this year I am resolving to reduce my stash by selecting and using a piece of fabric, or in this case a collection of coordinating fabric scraps. By putting the unused fabric to good use, I am making room on my shelves for new, spring yardage!

Several years ago, I participated in a block swap that called for Asian fabrics. Of course, there were scraps from the project. I used the scraps to make a quilt for some friends who adopted a little girl from China. And still there are scraps.

My daughter Trinity mentioned that she would like to make an Asian themed quilt. “Aha, I have just the fabric for a ‘charm square’ style project!”

And Trinity needed backing for a niece’s quilt. Isn’t this a lovely (vintage) floral calico from my mother’s stash?

Off the shelf and into the hands of someone who will make a beautiful quilt with it!

(Is it cheating to give away fabric to fulfill my Resolution challenge?)
