Tuesday morning, March 25, dawned bright and early for the 20 plus workshop participants. For six hours, we sewed, chatted, and enjoyed lunch in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Papillion, NE. What a roomy, well-lit space! Check out the Braided River Quilt Guild’s website here.
Some worked on “Pinwheel Play,” while others opted for “Monkey Shines.” (Find the link for “Monkey Shines,” a free Layer, Cut, Swap, and Sew pattern on my Patterns page.) After I demonstrated layering fat quarters and cutting both designs, the ladies hurried to their tables and began to work.
Nancy selected blend-y prints in teal and gray/green
Mary plans a “Monkey Shines” baby quilt
Carla down-sized “Pinwheel Play” and used earth tones with a splash of gold
We all admired Kim’s cheery fabrics
Joann loves purple!
Deb was excited about striped sashing once she framed her blocks in green
Judy’s pink palette is so soft and pretty!
Linda selected darling Little Golden Book fabrics
After adding a burnt orange border, Dee plans to hang this quilt in her sewing room
Donna’s “Monkey Shines” in playful, aquatic prints
Lynn auditioned sashing ideas for her “Pinwheel” blocks
I love Barb’s warm combination of blue and brown!
Kathy’s spring-y splash of purple
Gerry will decorate her kitchen with patriotic “Pinwheels”
I was so happy with the ladies’ progress, they worked diligently throughout the day and showed their Quilts in Progress at the evening lecture. Way to sew, Braided River Quilters!
