Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, Vol. 10 Blog Tour, Day 2

18 11 2014

Today I’ll show you “Churned Star,” designed by Nancy Allen. It’s block #955 in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks from Today’s Top Designers, Vol. 10.

What a neat design technique – superimposing a “Saw Tooth Star” over a “Churn Dash!” This block will look great in the Christmas sampler I’m making for my son and daughter-in-law. All the greens, reds, tans, and off-whites of my blocks will show to great advantage on their red sofa.

Like your use of traditional patterns to form a new one. Great colors.

Of all the blocks I’ve seen so far, Churned Stars is really unusual and interesting. This is the second time I have seen it featured. It is such an intriguing design idea.
