“Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star” Workshop

30 05 2015

Saturday, May 2, found twelve members of the Tarheel Quilt Guild at a “Hunter’s Star” workshop. Jane Godshall of Charlotte, NC led us in using Deb Tucker’s special ruler for speedily piecing this block.

It was fun to see all the variations caused by different fabrics and different arrangements of the blocks.

Trinity gave me the idea of placing a 12″ “LeMoyne Star” in the center, surrounded by the “Hunter’s Star” blocks, surrounded by perhaps 6″ “LeMoyne Star” blocks. You can tell from the picture that I used light gray and mottled magenta/purple fabrics. I think the 12″ “LeMoyne Star” block would be more distinctive had I alternated magenta star points with darker purple star points. It’s a work in progress, and the jury is still out on how I shall finish it.

I’ll keep you posted on the progress of my “Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star” quilting project!
