My friend, Kathy H., recently sent me two very fun quilt tops to quilt for her. I think you’ll enjoy seeing both of them. Pattern information is included in case you’d like to make one or both.
First up is “Turtle Talk” designed by Vicki Stratton and published by Quilting Time. (Click on the highlighted words to link to Vicki’s online store.)
I quilted bubbles and water in the interior and added some freehand designs in the pieced border. I wonder what those turtles are talking about!
“Okey Dokey Owl and Friends Applique Quilt” was designed by Jennifer Jangles. Isn’t it the cutest? Kathy made this quilt as a way to remember her mother who collected owls.
Using off-white thread, I meandered in the background, quilted a feather in each owl wing, and freehanded tiny clamshells for chest feathers. (Click on the photo to zoom in.)
Thanks, Kathy, for sharing your playful quilts with my blog readers!
