Quilting Circle Fall Project

16 10 2015

This fall I’m again hosting a Quilting Circle in my home. We meet one Thursday each month to sew, chat, and enjoy lunch together. My co-leader, Karlene, designed a wall quilt with lots of variables. Each quilter’s quilt will be unique depending on size of background squares, border piecing, applique motifs and fabrics used.

In September we worked on Step #1 – making a background out of ecru and light tan squares. Step #2 – sewing a border of Flying Geese, or rectangles, or squares of Fall colors around the background of ecru/tan squares. Step # 3 – machine quilting. Step #4 – fusing pumpkin and/or leaf shapes to the quilted piece and machine appliqueing through all the layers (appli-quilting). Step #5 – binding, adding hanging sleeve and labeling.
I’ll keep you posted on our progress!

How can we join the group? We live in Clinton about 1 hour away from Fayetteville . Love your posts , you might have been at the Wilmington trunk show when I was there at Loving Stitches.
