Joan Ford visits the Tarheel Quilters Guild

23 02 2016

My local guild, the Tarheel Quilters, met Sunday afternoon. Excitement was in the air as Joan Ford, celebrated Scrap Therapy quilter, shared her colorful quilts and tips for making them. Check out Joan’s website, Hummingbird Highway.

In addition to seeing her trunk show on Sunday, I planned to participate in her “Chopped” workshop on Monday, but a sick grandson precluded the experience. Heather did attend and shared some pictures of her blocks with me.

Shot cotton fat quarters and a cream “grunge” background are my fabric selections.

Since Sana picked up a pattern for me at the workshop, I’ll be able to make “Chopped” over the next month or so.

Stay tuned for progress reports on this quilt.

Sorry that you missed the workshop and your grandson was sick; but, it was so nice to see you!
