Just to let you know what is going on in our family . . .
Our son, Josh, and his wife, Heather, brought baby David into the world on June 12! It’s always fun to hold a new papoose swaddled in his receiving blanket. He hardly weighs anything compared to his energetic 3 1/2 year old brother, shown here “sharing” his hotwheel toys. If you are wondering if I made David a welcome-to-the-world quilt, the answer is “yes.” You can read about “The Adventurer’s” baby quilt here and find a link to the instructions on the Patterns page.
In other news, the framers have used the sunny weather to great advantage for working on our retirement home. It is exciting to walk around the interior and see the layout of garage, laundry room, kitchen, open dining and living room, master bed and bath, and Ran’s study. Two more bedrooms, a bath, and large quilting studio will go on the second floor.
Even with all the family excitement, I found a few hours to sew/quilt some smaller projects. This runner was made from leftovers of “Get the Point” batik quilt that I made nearly four years ago. It was high time to turn the bits and pieces into a coordinating runner for a chest of drawers or coffee table! I quilted spirals all over with medium gray thread on my Brother PQ1500.
It’s wonderful to see the progress on our new house, and it feels great to have finished a UFO, but nothing compares to the pride and joy of having a new grandson to snuggle!
