“Four Way Block” – Blog Readers Share

Today’s blog post is all about congratulating those of you who are quilting along on the “Sisters” Block of the Month project.

Colleen, who is in the throes of house renovation, recently found time to “catch up” by sewing the Big Sister and Little Sister blocks for February, March, and April. Hooray, Colleen; I bet you can sew May’s “Four Way” blocks before the end of this week.

Karen’s “Four Way” blocks are so beautiful in batiks! I love the contrast of the soft green corner squares with the dark green squares/triangles in the block center.

Roxann finished her blocks super early in May, but I’ve waited until now to show them to you. Great going, Roxann!

I always enjoy seeing Joy’s bright blocks. The inclusion of gray really makes the other fabrics pop.

Karlene’s blocks are always delightful. It is so much fun to view the fabrics she selects as well as the placement of those fabrics. Karlene de-emphasized the arrows and included a fun stripe in her blocks.

Some of the Sisters BOM QAL participants have Instagram accounts and are posting pictures of their blocks under the hashtag sistersqal (#sistersqal). Scroll through the gallery for more eye candy.

If you are new to the abyquilts blog and would like to quilt along with our project this year, please join the fun. I have faith that you, like Colleen, can easily catch up. Click on the “Sisters BOM QAL” tab at the top of the blog. On the “Sisters” page, you’ll find links to an introduction document as well as links to instructions for the first five block designs of the quilt. I post instructions for successive blocks on the first of each month. June 1st is fast approaching, so stay tuned!
