This is the week the Sew ’n’ Sews have been anticipating for the past year, the annual retreat to Topsail Island. Along with walks on the sandy shore, chats and laughter with good friends, and yummy food, we have managed to work on sewing and quilting projects.
The top I wanted to assemble above all else was “Painted Ladies.” I exchanged these bright house blocks with three friends and my daughter from January through August. I plan to add a 3” border of the light gray background fabric.
Another big project is a quilt for our pastor’s wife who retired from teaching. Well-wishers signed blocks at her retirement party, and our group is setting them together. It will be quilted later.
I am also working on several table runners for gifts. I will keep you posted as the weeks rolls along.
